CST338 March 12th - March 18th Week 02

During Week 1, I experienced a generally smooth start, though I did miss submitting my learning journal, which was a key component of one of the assignments. The codingbat challenges were both demanding and enlightening; while the estimated times were meant to guide me, I ended up spending nearly twice as long on some of the problems but I'm glad I did them. These challenges helped influence how I approached week 2 hw assignments (Markov). I found the Markov prompt to be very precise, a lot of the methods that we had to code out was nicely pseudocoded so all I had to do was translate them into Java code which made the assignment go by extremely quick.

Part 1: The Metaverse by CyberDown 1. The topic was well covered, I've definitely learned more about the metaverse than from what I was previously aware of. 2. Presentation was clear. 3. Quality of research seems to be well done, there was a lot of information regarding what the metaverse is and it's use cases. 4. Quality of the video production could of been better, it was more like a power point presentation versus a video. 5. The video is interesting, specifically going over the use cases. 6. Team work isn't too evident as there's only two members in the group and only one speaker in the video. Maybe it was split up in terms of research and presentation. 7. For the technology professionals, it was appropriate and went over some technical aspects that helped clarify and summarized what the Metaverse is and what it's capable of in the future. Solutions Quantum Computing by Webcraft 1. Topic is decently well covered, it was more about the history of Quantum Computi...

Part One: For my team's Final Research Video Project, we planned everything through discord. It was an effective communication tool as we all primarily use discord for communication anyways. The process was smooth as I had team mates who were very capable, they created an outline, talking points, assigned people specific tasks to avoid confusion. For the next time I'm working on another large collaborate projects, I would like to be more urgent so if there's anything that needs to be addressed from my portion or other team members portion, we can address it before the due date. Part Two: How AI can help you turn an idea into the next great app Amjad Masad is the CEO of Relit, an online software creation platform and community that i've personally used in class to create programs and submit assignment in. Amjad talks about how you can turn your idea into the next great app via AI.      This is probably one of the best video i've come across with on the internet regar...

CST Module 6 February 12th - February 18th

Part 1 My team briefly discussed a couple of capstone project ideas. Multimedia Recipe App : An application that enhances traditional recipe sharing by allowing users to attach audio and video inputs to each recipe. This feature is particularly useful for recipes passed down through generations where precise measurements are often approximated, enabling clearer visualization of ingredient quantities. Family Tracking App : A project inspired by Life360 that uses GPS and Google Maps API to monitor the locations of family members. It would include additional niche features to improve family safety and connectivity. Health & Appointment App : A health-focused application that offers appointment reminders and provides educational information on the importance of regular check-ups and common diseases. It also incorporates a built-in translation tool to help non-native English speakers communicate effectively with healthcare professionals. Part 2 This week's module went over the writi...

CST Module 5 February 5th - February 11th

Interview For this week, I interviewed one of my coworker Jhon Aclan  who works with me at Keasy. Jhon Aclan is a recent computer science graduate at SFSU (San Francisco State University). He acquired his bachelor in Computer Science in Spring of 2024 with a minor in Mathematics. A majority of his past work experience is in the IT field providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for internal users. He recently landed a job at MX2 Technology as a Senior Executive Service Desktop Support while also working remotely at Keasy as a software engineer. I chose Jhon because his career path is something that I believe most software engineers will go through.  When asked about his career path, in Jhon's personal opinion, it's hard to get an entry level programming job so we have to get our foot into the door either through a similar industry where those career either exists within your work place in hopes that you can eventually move to that position after proving your technical, com...

CST Module 4 January 29th - February 4th

Part One: Set Your Educational Goals My educational goal is to acquire my bachelors degree. In order to achieve this goal I just need to keep doing what i'm doing, reading the materials and turning in my work before their due dates. I feel confident that as long as I am able to keep this up, once we reach the programming aspect of this CS program, this goal is within reach. Part Two: Set Your Career Goals My career goal is to eventually to lead software development. One of my prior short term career goal was to work as a full stack software engineer which I have been fortunate enough to have started doing on January of 2025. From here I plan to build the necessary skill to develop a program from the ground up and learn the necessary project management skills to lead a team. Part Three: Take a wild guess of your percentile of the ETS Computer Science test After looking at the ETS Computer Science test, I realized that although I know most of the concepts I still did pretty bad on th...

CST Module 3 January 22nd - January 28th

Part 1 From week 2 of my journal, I mentioned that I am my best when I stick to a schedule but find sticking to a schedule difficult due to unforeseen events that may show up. Acknowledging my weakness, for week 3 of the learning journal post I went over the Time Management Tips and read over the contents. I found that trying to be a perfectionist has set me up for failure when trying to follow a set schedule I set for myself for studying as things tend to come up. Being able to say NO to those things is important as I also need to learn what I need to prioritize. Going through the Time Management Tips contents, I believe that I'll be able to manage my time more effectively as this becomes a habit. Part 2 This week's learning module went over ethics, what it is, ethical frameworks, and ethics argument. Ethics can be a very subjective topic as ethics can be different from person to person depending on their belief, what the law considers ethic, or their religion. However, what ...
