CST Module 6 February 12th - February 18th

Part 1

My team briefly discussed a couple of capstone project ideas.

Multimedia Recipe App: An application that enhances traditional recipe sharing by allowing users to attach audio and video inputs to each recipe. This feature is particularly useful for recipes passed down through generations where precise measurements are often approximated, enabling clearer visualization of ingredient quantities.

Family Tracking App: A project inspired by Life360 that uses GPS and Google Maps API to monitor the locations of family members. It would include additional niche features to improve family safety and connectivity.

Health & Appointment App: A health-focused application that offers appointment reminders and provides educational information on the importance of regular check-ups and common diseases. It also incorporates a built-in translation tool to help non-native English speakers communicate effectively with healthcare professionals.

Part 2
This week's module went over the writing lab. We also created an ILP Portfolio website. We also developed a resume and cover letter to build our professional profiles. Additionally, we discussed upcoming courses, including CST 338: Software Design with Java, preparing us for future academic challenges.

CST300 Module 1 January 8th - January 14th

This week's module covered a couple of topic.  The first topic was a brief history into CSU Monterey Bay and how it was founded in 1994 on the site of the decommissioned Fort Ord, a former army base located in Monterey Peninsula in California. The campus had it's first day of class in August 28, 1995 where President Bill Clinton paid a visit during the opening ceremony. There was also a quiz associated with this lecture where I got a 4/5, the question I missed being "Who is the SCD Information Technology Consultant" which I wasn't able to find out based on the material that was given. I originally assumed it was Kayla Rolicheck as she has been our main contact/consultant on our online program. My approach to trying to figure out who was the Information Technology Consultant was to go through their email signature to see if they had their title in their signature. CST Module 3 January 22nd - January 28th

Part 1 From week 2 of my journal, I mentioned that I am my best when I stick to a schedule but find sticking to a schedule difficult due to unforeseen events that may show up. Acknowledging my weakness, for week 3 of the learning journal post I went over the Time Management Tips and read over the contents. I found that trying to be a perfectionist has set me up for failure when trying to follow a set schedule I set for myself for studying as things tend to come up. Being able to say NO to those things is important as I also need to learn what I need to prioritize. Going through the Time Management Tips contents, I believe that I'll be able to manage my time more effectively as this becomes a habit. Part 2 This week's learning module went over ethics, what it is, ethical frameworks, and ethics argument.
