CST489 Week 10

What project milestones did you accomplish this week?

This week I dedicated approximately 10 hours to the NVIDIA RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) course, making solid progress toward my next certification. In addition to the coursework, I revisited my original project proposal and revised the scope to better reflect a realistic understanding of AWS and cloud architecture. When I initially wrote my proposal, I underestimated the complexity of AWS and set expectations that didn't quite align with what the platform actually involves. Now that I have hands-on experience deploying a real application using ECS, ECR, RDS, and S3, I have a much clearer picture of what is achievable and have adjusted my proposal accordingly.

What is your plan for next week?

Next week I plan to continue putting significant hours into the NVIDIA RAG course with the goal of completing it and moving toward certification. I want to maintain the momentum I built this week and push to finish the course material so I can schedule the certification exam as soon as possible.

What challenges, if any, are you currently facing in project development? Do you need instructor assistance?

I am not currently facing any major challenges. The revision to my project proposal has actually given me more clarity and confidence moving forward. No instructor assistance is needed at this time. I'd likely need to revise a few of my project proposal to something more realistic as I learn more about the courses i'm taking.

A view is essentially a saved query that you can treat like a table. Under the hood, the database doesn’t necessarily store the view’s data separately; it re-runs the defining SELECT every time you reference it  The similarities to a table are the Rows and Column, you SELECT from a view similar as to how you would do it from a table. CST489 Week 9

What project milestones did you accomplish this week? This week I successfully completed the AWS Cloud Practitioner course on Amazon as well as the Agile Project Management course . In addition to completing the coursework, I applied the AWS concepts I learned by deploying an older project to the cloud in order to test and reinforce my new skills. The site is currently being hosted at: http://54.177.87.154:3000/ For this project, I built and deployed the application using several AWS services. I created a Docker image of my project and stored it in Amazon ECR (Elastic Container Registry) . My ECS service pulls this image and runs the containerized application. The project’s data is stored in an Amazon RDS MySQL database , which handles the backend data storage. I also configured an S3 bucket to store static assets such as pet photos, CSS files, and JavaScript files.
